Les tournesols

Lorraine, and in particular the Seille river valley, “La région du Saulnois”, ou “La région des étangs” (a mini Lake District), is a varied and colourful region in all seasons. This sunflower field was dancing in the wind, bordered on one side by the Seille river and on the other by the St Jean woods, near Dieuze and the picturesque village of Lindres Basse, a natural reserve and haven for birdlife, in particular serving as a stork sanctuary. This picture was taken at the end of the summer season, and the sunflowers are in full bloom amongst the white flowers background of a previous organic crop.
